Football – Alabama Preview (2019)

The Ole Miss football
team is back on the road for the first time since
the opening weekend of the 2019 season. And they’ve got a big
challenge ahead of them. Trying to take
down the reigning. SCC champion Alabama
Crimson Tide. The Rebs fell to two and two, after a tough loss at
home to a top 25 squad. But there are plenty of
positives to draw from the loss. Offensively the Rebels
amassed their most yardage on the season. Whether it came from Matt Corral grinding out more than
300 all purpose yards. Or from John Rhys Plumlee’s
near late game heroics, which resulted in a touchdown
drive in the fourth quarter. Defensively the Rebs came
away with another turnover. The first pick in the young
career of Deantre Prince. And they held Cal to a
season low 60 rushing yards. The third straight
time the land shark D has held opponents under 70
yards on the ground this season. The defense will have to be
stout again facing the Tide. Especially with talents
like Najee Harris in the back field. And Jerry Jeudy, DeVonta
Smith and Henry Ruggs in the passing game for
quarter back Tua Tagovailoa. It’s the ninth straight year the Rebs take on an
Alabama team ranked first, or second in the nation. Kick off on Saturday
is set for two thirty. You can watch the action on CBS. Or as always keep up with
updates on social media. with the official Ole
Miss athletics app. And online at olemisssports.com.
