College Football: 2017 Heisman Trophy Odds and Value Picks (8.15.2017)

Let’s face it, predicting the Heisman trophy
winner before the college football season is damn near impossible. But, that’s not gonna stop me. So, here are my best value bets to win this
season’s Heisman. There will be a lot of folks liking Baker
Mayfield to win the Heisman this season, but it’s another Big 12 QB that offers the best
value. Mason Rudolph of Oklahoma State opens the
season at +2500 to win the award and has everything in place to do so. The Cowboys offense returns seven starters
including lethal deep ball threat James Washington. But, Rudolph will need to prove he is better
than Mayfield and lead the Cowboys over the Sooners to truly make his case. But hey, maybe you think the rise of Heisman
contending running backs means you should lean in that direction. In that case, I say Derrius Guice offers the
best value. The LSU running back was absolutely stellar
last season when the Tigers leaned on him. Something new offensive coordinator Matt Canada
is sure to do. Canada should do just enough to make the passing
game seem like a threat, allowing Guice to carve up defenses in 2017. Those are the best value plays for the Heisman
entering the 2017 season. Let us know who you think is going to hoist
that trophy below. And as always, here’s hoping you beat that
bookie.
