All right, what’s up, what is up guys and gals out there I am Craig Kats little your co-host the white tiger podcast. You know who I am and I’m with this guy. Oh Yeah, where are you a Sade is our social distancing episode of the white tiger podcast, yes, we are social distancing and Surviving and managing. I should say the this coronavirus endemic that’s happening across the world How are you making out with this old thing? All right. This is us doing our part to avoid people. Oh boy each other. Yes it is We are doing our part and you know what? It’s it’s a good thing and I just feel blessed that I’m able to still connect and we could still Live up to our promise to deliver more content. So that’s a cool thing the power of technology Thank God I guarantee you how much zoom is being used right now across the globe yeah, I’m sure that’s like like this is Where were all recluses right now? Yeah, it’s true. It’s true. I mean their servers must be completely like jammed It’s gonna be crazy, but it’s interesting. But you know what? It’s here. We are going into our second week of our new format Putting out three episodes a week. Hopefully you guys Have listened to last week’s episodes and really enjoy what we’re putting out. So this week we want it I mean There’s so many things to talk about Believe it or not in the world of sports and and I want to thank each and every single one of you for making us The number one resource for what’s not going on in the world of sports? Thank you guys for that. That’s honor But yes, a lot of things happening believe it or not in the world of sports. I’m primarily in the NFL and There’s so many different things happening. I think that may be a good place to start I think there’s gonna be like a hybrid episode but when we start there and I like to get your point of view on all This different free agency craziness. Yeah. Thank goodness for The agency coming around at this this pivotal time where we need something. Yeah, but it’s something We got Tom Brady is a Tampa Bay Buccaneer who the hell would have thought that would happen like who doesn’t when he has been a year of unbelievable twists and turns Unbelievable. Yeah, and you know what? I think of it like there was Everyone was really in the sports world Morning because like everything sports has been canceled and then all of a sudden someone popped the cork on this bottle of just like It’s it’s pretty much what everybody’s embracing I’m sure like or like Fox Sports ESPN and a bunch of big Mia sports media outlets are being like oh my god it’s just a savior to have all this stuff happened because now we can have stuff to talk about and Good stuff to talk about because we obviously know that the NFL machine is is a strong machine. It’s pretty popular oh, it’s not slowing down and You know, just seeing a lot of lot of moves along with Tom Brady the Bucks we got DeAndre Hopkins getting traded Crazy, I’m still floored by that trade. I don’t know war why I thought he would been there stable for a lie I thought he would have been a lifer. Yeah, there’s there’s something else going on and I heard some I don’t know if you heard Michael Irvin’s interview with first take I believe it was in on ESPN said he had a personal conversation with DeAndre and he he made mention about maybe some issues with With the head coach and some some things you said in reference to Aaron Hernandez. Did you hear anything about that? Yeah I I saw the headline I didn’t dive deep into it. I saw that headline he was comparing The situation Aaron Hernandez because like his baby mamas were around or something like right. Yeah something along those lines. I just Just crazy stuff and you know what? if if that if there’s truth to that then I think it’s probably better that there are they are where there are the where they landed, you know that the adres in a different organization and Yeah, they’re they’re moving on without it. But you know, they they wind up signing Randall Cobb shortly thereafter this whole thing So I that was their solution get rid of their best receiver and not to slight Randall, but I mean, he’s not DeAndre Hopkins So yeah, crazy stuff and and again the Tom Brady thing blows my mind I said on a previous podcast on record that he would never leave the Patriots or if he did that he would retire I’m blown away. I’m blown away Whoa, I mean, it’s a much better. I was telling you that bills not time Well, you know what you think how much do you think that there’s a fractured relationship between him and they’ll check at this point I mean what fractured I’m I’m not sure but from my perspective I was looking at it as bill is not gonna make an Emotional decision in regards to handling this whole operating situation my of course tom has done An unbelievable job helping their organization get to the premier status that it is now, but at the same time he’s a 42 year old quarterback and an emotional decision would be like will sign Tom what will keep here as long as he wants to play a business decision to Hey, please think about the future now. We were trying to move away from him a couple years ago when we were Considering having Jimmy Garoppolo be the guy. Yeah. Now they’re kind of behind the 8-ball and finding that next step and This is them just finally cutting the cord Obviously, there’s no bad blood between Tom and the organization, but this is just a business decision Yeah I think it’s an eye opener for pretty much everyone out there to say listen If this thing could happen to Tom Brady this could happen to anybody like, you know, there’s gonna be an end of a road No matter how successful you are. There’s gonna be an end or end of a road with an organization at some point And then it’s just a matter of like it. You know, what’s interesting is that when when you see players in a uniform for so long and have so much success like Tom Brady have it has had it’s so much it’s so Weird to see him in another uniform and it’s and you wonder it’s like is your legacy? Does is there more pressure on him now to actually be able to produce something in? in Tampa, or Is it okay if he has some couple subpar season since rides off into the sunset? Well, I don’t think he can afford to have a couple subpar seasons, I think What’s unlike Tom Brady? You want him to go out on top? So because he’s deciding to play a couple more years You saw him to go out on top. So I think that This new phase of his career in Tampa. I Think there is a lot of pressure and urgency to go out and prove that you’re Tom Brady even without the Patriots organization that Tom Brady is An embodies that spirit of a champion no matter where he is True. You know what though? I’m gonna go back to something Some guy named Asante cleveland said and there’s something about the Patriots the Patriots way and that really has a major impact on performance Now you you think about like you even said this like we talked about this hand at least a handful of times Is that the difference in playing in one organization that go into Patriots is pretty different So it’s interesting to see how him coming from the Patriots and going to an organization Like the Bucs is gonna is gonna change things for him Well, you also got a look at it like this. It’s not just the Bucs or acquired a new player They’ve essentially acquired a player coach that I think The stipulations of Tom going there or is like hey I’m gonna make some changes like there are gonna be some cultural shifts on that offense that tom is not going to those he just has standards that he holds to and they’re gonna have to have bend to that and I think that With them following his lead falling in line with whatever Guidelines and protocols that he believes is necessary we’ll end up making the Bay Bucs more successful, but I think that Tom is bringing culture with it tom is bringing 20 years of New England Patriots culture with him Yeah, I’m you know, maybe they’ll make it. Yeah, I feel like if they have talent the Buccaneers have talent do I feel like I Don’t know. I know you can Bruce Arians the Bucks Tom Brady do it. I don’t know. I’m the jury’s out I’m thinking not based on what I’ve seen in the past. But again, it’s Tom Brady. Who knows? knows what we’ll find out but then the real question is Do you think that the Patriots can still make it to this role? At least get back to the AFC Championship one outcome Listen, you know, what’s interesting? I got I want to say yes And I think there’s a lot of bills Jets fans particularly Bills fans that are pretty Happy that Tom is now out of the AFC East. It’s been a Patriots dominated Comfort or division for a long long long time right? There was nobody else the Jets to don’t forget it Nobody so I think you know the bills are Happy but I still think that knowing Belichick and knowing the system that they have They seem to have players that people don’t think are like unbelievably fantastic and they seem to produce very damn well and they acquire players and they go to that organization in that system and they Unbelievably produce. So based on the facts at least that I’ve seen historically I think absolutely it’s just a matter I think they know what they’re doing and I could probably I would toss that to you I mean, I think that they know what they’re doing and I think that they will be successful Yeah, I’m right there with you. They they have the system and No one is more important than the next in this system like the bill treats everyone Unlike you were on one hundred percent even playing field and that’s what I took to be the most unique part about the Patriots organization is that Anybody can get yelled at in a meeting no matter who you are you’d be Tom Brady You just beat the bills by like thirty points and he’s getting snapped up because he took a sack for him ball team So I think that they already have the mentality in place. They already have the system in place. They just need a new new player at the helm a new quarterback at the helm But I think that training just gonna keep moving along a hundred percent and I think they have a plan I don’t think these are kind of like shoot from the hip type of decisions these guys. They know what they’re doing. They’re professionals They’ve obviously the proof is in the pudding so they’re not gonna let Tom Brady walk if they felt like they were worse than some really good options for the immediate and the immediate future in the future future, so Yeah with that being said, what do you think about to Jameis? You think his time is done over in the box. What? um Yeah, I’m he’ll stay he won’t stay because they on but they I don’t know if they released him or not Sure, I don’t know but I don’t see him going anywhere else in being a starter right now, that’s for sure I there’s a There’s a lot of quarterback carousel right now like Joe Flacco is now available There’s a bunch of young quarterbacks coming in through the draft. I Don’t think Jameis Winston lands another starting job next year. Yeah Maybe in his best interest to stay in Tampa and just learn under Tom Brady for a year or two and Hopefully soak up some knowledge that will make him ultimately a better quarterback well, I mean I guess I don’t know what the status of his contract is but it that’s gonna depend on on how much is costing the team If it’s gonna be worthwhile to keep him on the roster. Yeah, I like that I don’t know what his uh, he was contractors But you no matter where he’s not gonna be a starter true Yeah, but listen, I could tell you one person that will be a starter next year. Was that Prescott and dak Prescott? Contrary to what? I was hoping for got tagged and he did get tagged and You know, I mean listen it is what it is I’ve heard I agree with both sides of the story and reference to both sides of the argument I should say with the franchise tag, and he’s still getting paid still gonna make a ton of money He’s still making a ton of money. He’s getting his pay he’s getting paid And I think a deal will get worked out at some point. But you know, it just it is what it is I there and I think one people one thing that people forget, you know, it’s not say here is that it’s a salary cap Right. So there’s a lot of people the Cowboys had to not couldn’t resign, you know Quinn left he’s gone Heath is gone There’s a bunch of guys for the Cowboys that they couldn’t resign because they prioritized so like I understand players want to get the max dollar about by giving players max dollar It’s gonna from a team’s perspective not able You’re gonna lose on other you’re gonna have to give up into other parts of the team. Yeah, and it’s it’s great It’s great that they score a million points, but when they’re give two million points It doesn’t make sense because they had because they lost a lot of defensive, you know Phyllis Byron Jones, they lost a lot of defensive tools So it’s kind of like I get it but I think when you have to look at the big picture It’s like you can’t always pay everybody as much as they want because you have to think of the whole team No, not at all But you think that a lot of those guys have put out a body of work that will get them somebody’s gonna pay For Heath someone’s gonna pay money for Byron Jones so they’ve done what they needed to do to go get bigger contracts and then I think Like I said, it was it made sense on both sides by the tagged DAC. I think the Cowboys would have been kind of succumbing to more social pressure if they gave dak A big press if they gave dak a big contract Because I think that would been foolish if they would have just made him work I think he’s asking for were like 37 a year. Yeah, I think after one I think he’s gonna I think either the tag he’s gonna make 33 That’s perfect. But for one year, so Hopefully, why would hope to see happen is that dak? absolutely solidifies himself this coming up season as a premier quarterback he just shows that He is really really really worth 30 to 733 plus million dollars a year for a long-term contract So I hope he does well With that but based off what he’d already done. He hadn’t proven that Yeah, I agree with that and you know from a Cowboys perspective. I think I feel pretty optimistic with their team I think they have their core players on both sides of the ball are There I think they put their money out. They paid their big-time players I think that hopefully they attacked a draft pretty aggressively I think to be in a good spot and we’ll see what happens yeah, I Still like so I didn’t hurt Really? Yeah, you know what? I gotta say. I put out no wasn’t it wasn’t Jalen Hurd’s was Carla Murray. That’s another story but Jaylen, hurts. Yeah, I I think people are sleeping on him I agree with you and I don’t know if it’s something that I know how the Cowboys factored into that But yeah, I think people are sleeping on it Yeah, I think someone will take Jim Hearst and be and that’ll be a franchise guy. Yeah Yeah, any reason why you think they are sleeping on them? Oh I don’t know who have is the top guy right now It’s what’s his name is that it’s that Herbert from Oregon. Is it? No, it’s uh It’s not who is it Oh, Joe, Perot. Oh, yeah, noburo and I think I think he’s over read he had an incredible season One season in college football like I don’t think anyone in the history of culture ball has had a better season at quarterback on him but I don’t think he is a Transformative player. I think he’s gonna I think the bangles take him out. I think he’s gonna like believe in to greatness No, no, I will go on record Absolutely a hundred percent saying absolutely not and again college is different animal than pro I mean if people haven’t figured it out yet already You could be a Heisman winner an outstanding player in college and not produced in the pros and to be honest You could not produce in college and have a really good pro career. So it’s just I don’t know like there’s only I think there’s Is an intangible thing that I don’t know. I think I believe in but we’ll see. Who knows yeah, he he’s definitely like intangibles like showed the leadership to Take LSU to the national championship, but I think there are better Long-term prospects in the draft then jobber, oh, yeah, they’re I agree with that and the dress is gonna be interesting despite whether or not that actually How that happens. Um, I From zoom call – yeah, this love the draft will be zoomed. It’ll be all virtual but Whatever it’ll be exciting. It’ll be something to watch and we’ll hopefully just kind of like, you know satisfy sports fans across the world looking for something to watch and you know with that being said So there’s there’s obviously so much going on Another thing that stood out for me was Stefon Diggs going to hello and I think that was a huge thing for Buffalo just that there’s a bunch of the DeAndre Hopkins thing obviously and literal Michael Irvin talked about how The Cardinals got him literally for a ham sandwich. I mean they literally gave away an injured David Johnson. Oh, Yeah crazy. I don’t think we need to beat that horse anymore but so to speak but yeah, it’s just just interesting but one thing I did hear today about sports is that Silver the Commissioner for the NBA talked about the thinking about the future of the NBA going forward this season talked about maybe a charity Game, did you hear about that? I did see that so I I didn’t really see what the details would be Would it be like a makeshift all-star game? Yeah kind of that just to give Just an opportunity to give back and then not just to charity but to give back to to sports fancy, you know Hopefully provide, you know, give them an opportunity to be able to watch something. Yeah, that would be great People are craving for something right now. There’s no outside of the They only like these 24-hour news cycle shows. That’s the only thing that’s really on right now know what’s interesting though It’s not that you know I heard this and this makes total sense in times of crisis People often look for the certainty which is sports Like people who people go to sports because it gives them peace because it gives them something that they know they’re gonna get some enjoyment And entertainment out of so when stuff’s going crazy Like how big was it to actually get back after after post 9/11 to get back to football right and to get back to just like that first football game or I Remember when the Superdome opened the first time when the the Saints played the Falcons after Katrina like that was a big dealing people Just a lot of beat there’s a lot of ground of feeling grounded and safe and at home and finally got that friend again right in sports and Not having that at the same time as good That’s what makes this current situation that we’re dealing with as far as this corona thing so unique is that it’s it’s eliminated that grounding factor of sports and That I think has been is been very very unique this time compared to other things that we’ve we’ve encountered in this country Well, it’s essentially a three to four our escape from whatever reality that you’re dealing with You could just forget about all that and just focus on rooting for your team Favorite player and how people are deprived because we don’t have that at all I mean, all you do is watch old highlights of your favorite player But that’s about as much accident action as you’re gonna get right now. Yeah a Game like that would be amazing I know I would love to see it as I’m sure millions and millions of other people with as well. Yeah, I would be all for You know, it’s kind of you know, it’s kind of crazy never thought I would do this But I’ve actually been spending some more time on Twitch. Oh Really? Yeah watching like what how like who was gonna watch people play video games who would do that of this guy? This guy is now like I’m like, yeah look at it I’m watching I’m watching twitch now watching some people’s twitch channels this 100% speaks to the viability of ESports because yes in a time like this people can still it’s still host virtual tournaments. So That industry can essentially be unaffected well You know what and I think it’s a really good segue for the episode here because we talked about the finding Opportunity and kind of like the least kind of opportune times or what maybe people would think is not an opportune time And I think in this current situation we’re going through right now I think you know a lot of people are hunkering down and are have been You know relocated if you’re if you’re not working where your work you working at a home your kids are not going to school and there’s a Lot of things that you’re trying to adjust to But it’s like about like trying to find opportunity in the tonton like the worst times and I think like if we can start thinking about like It’s like the twitch like eSports take getting this like this is an opportunity for us to get more Marketing the more publicity to get more people in touch with what we’re doing on the eSports side Like what? Could we be really doing now? We talked about it in the last episode one thing that stuck out for me that you said was like if you have that business Plan that you’re thinking about, you know start working on that business plan. Like people are gonna have more time Maybe more time at home and thinking about how can you seize this opportunity and do something with it to kind of move you? Yeah It’s like the perfect time to kind of just find a way to find a way You have all the time in the world right now Everything shut down. There’s no social events of people who experience severe FOMO Not worry about it because nothing’s going on. So you just have ample time to just focus on yourself focus on what? Goals that you have set for yourself we want to achieve once this is all over but the best thing to do was start now because if you wait until We didn’t like the all-clear sign and then start working on it. You’re you’re too late Yeah, 100% and you know what? I keep going back to this metaphor, but I think it’s so practical Even now first thing that popped into my head was that gas pedal thing that gas thing Like you’ve been stepping on that gas and you’ve built up all this momentum so far Like don’t take your foot off the gas and have it go back down because when it goes back down You’re gonna have to push harder and your car’s gonna have to work harder Your engine’s gonna have to work harder to get back up to where you’re at now So just do whatever you can do to keep your foot on the gas Keep it a cruise control. If you have to I don’t even know if that’s necessarily the best advice All I’m saying is is just don’t lose the momentum. You’ve built so far here in 2020 and just keep your foot on the gas spot-on Yeah, because you get a lot of people are gonna be taking their foot mark my words a lot of people are gonna be taking Your foot off the gas and understandably. So but it’s the people who keep their foot on the pedal and Actually the metaphorical pedal of life or business or whatever You want are the ones when this when we get through this because this too shall pass Are gonna be the ones that are gonna be further ahead than everyone else and that is going to be very important especially if you want to separate yourself and Reach your goals and to to get yourself ahead and do things that most people aren’t going to do now’s the time Yeah so Yeah, it’s definitely a good a good lesson to learn and I would suggest if anyone has some something that they want to do now is the time to start thinking about it and and Really given it some given it some thought and hopefully actually putting it into practice Yeah, you brought everything And another thing so we put out a poll Recently on Instagram asking you guys for some things to talk about because we’re recording today and one thing that came up was Coming back from a setback like if if you experienced a setback in life, like what is it? What is it that you can do to get back from that setback? and I think it happens at a good time because I think a lot of people are experiencing some type of setback going through this this Epidemic or pandemic whatever it is you want to call it? And again, I think the immediately off the top of my head Which kind of it’s just opportunity. It’s like are you you have a setback? I heard um if you guys follow Jack Olynyk Jocko if you most people I think the follow the podcast knew who he is, but Jaco put out this thing I think it was on his podcast from the video. You could search for it on YouTube and it’s just like he says like People on his in his military groups, it’s him. Like listen, we didn’t get funding for this would he do that? He’s like good He’s like well good, you know So as they may be an opportunity to appreciate what you have or to work harder or to do whatever it takes So this hat this stuff this situations happened to us. Well, good. Now what are we gonna do with it like good? What lessons are we gonna learn from it? Well good How are we gonna show we get what are we gonna do we get it’s good. We’re gonna find out a lot about ourselves We’re gonna rise and we’re gonna sink what we’re gonna retract so we can expand and I think it’s opportunity It’s like we have an opportunity here each and every day with deciding what we do and hopefully we just have enough – enough in our in ourselves to want to say I’m Choosing to expand I’m choosing to grow I’m choosing to take the road less travel Yeah, that’s a great way to look at it it’s just another opportunity – I think the best way to cut my bounce back from like a setback is starts with awareness and assessing your situation once you can really like take a step back act and look to see What’s around you boy? what happened process what actually just happened as opposed to just Blindly pushing forward and just trying to continue doing the same thing that you were doing just take that step back analyze your situation and then come up with the best plan of attack to move forward and Ultimately succeed. Yeah and this this This the situation to are really an opportunity which it is. Yeah, absolutely And you know what? We we live in such a fast-paced Society or going so fast that we’re this is like a time that we’re now being forced to slow down in some capacity like we’re slow did you we’re We’re forcing ourselves or were being forced to get outside our comfort zone and you’ve seen that like people are getting Uncomfortable and people panic and they get fearful because their routines are not the same anymore They’re not going to the same place to work that the stuff that they only get at the supermarket is not there anymore They’re they’re having to adjust to things that are not comfortable but there’s no certainty and when you start getting into uncertainty It gets people a little crazy. It gives people a lot of crazy But you know What it does do? Is that it gets you out of your comfort zone it gets you to grow and then you can always look back on this experience And saying, you know What if I could get through that experience and do what I did there I can continue to implement those positive things I’ve learned through that experience into my normal life when things get back to normal Yes, and I think this is kind of the blessing in disguise here is that it’s something people always say that they’re going to do It sometimes you just need someone to force you to do it or maybe you need God the universe whatever it is to force a situation upon you to get you to change to get you to maybe start thinking about Those things that you’ve been putting on hold for such a long time. We’re getting yourself to start you know what because there’s nothing else to do to start exercising more and going outside more and and maybe kind of Budgeting yourself more maybe not eating as much or or thinking about other ways to be creative and then using that Experience to start leaking it to other parts you have life thing to move you forward Yeah, this is gonna be a very pivotal moment in Millions of people’s lives right now. And I think a lot of people will find you really find their strength during this time because Look at the right history of us like we are yours down the road this is going to be like a section in history book punch percent the coronavirus of 2020 s definitely it’s it’s a it’s going to be a part of history a story that many people are gonna tell Ya, it’s good. It’s interesting and you know what one thing that we’ve traditionally Absolutely, you guys been listening to us.
