3 IT WAS HOMECOMING ON THE HILL YESTERDAY AS ALABAMA A&M HOSTED TEXAS SOUTHERN. DESPITE HAVING 3 WINS ON THE SEASON, THE BULLDOGS WERE STILL SEARCHING FOR THEIR 1ST WIN IN SWAC PLAY. 2ND QUARTER TEXAS SOUTHERN UP 10-7…BUT BACK COMES ALABAMA A&M… AQEEL GLASS THROWS THE SLANT TO ABDUL-FATAI IB-RA-HIM AND HE MAKES A HOUSE CALL…57 YARDS TO THE ENDZONE… AT THE HALF ALABAMA A&M WITH A ONE POINT LEAD… 14-13. TO THE SECOND HALF WE GO… A&M’S WORKHORSE JORDAN BENTLEY SCORES FROM 4 YARDS OUT… A&M JUMPS OUT TO A 28-13 LEAD..TEXAS SOUTHERN NOT GIVING UP THOUGH…. DEVIN WILLIAMS THROWS THE GO ROUTE TO DONNIE CORLEY FOR A 50 YARD TOUCHDOWN PASS… THE TIGERS CUTTING INTO THE BULLDOGS LEAD NOW… 28-20.THEN WILLIAMS ON THE ATTACK AGAIN. HE CONNECTS WITH KEY-LAWN DAVIS ON A 40 YARD SCORING PLAY.. BALL GAME TIED AT 28.. WE’RE GOING TO OVER TIME…BULLDOGS WITH THE BALL FIRST… AQEEL FIRES IT ACROSS THE MIDDLE TO IB-RA-HIM FOR GLASSES 4TH TOUCHDOWN OF THE GAME… HE HAD 377 THROUGH THE AIR.. A&M LEADS 35-28… TEXAS SOUTHERN WITH THE BALL.. FACING 4TH DOWN… DOMINIC FRANKLIN TAKES THE HANDOFF AND HE’S STOPPED BY MARQUISE PRICE AND THE BULLDOGS DEFENSE… ALABAMA A&M WINS 35-28 IN OVERTIME…A HUGE WIN FOR THE BULLDOGS WE CAUGHT UP WITH HEAD COACH CONNELL MAYNOR AFTER THE GAME.. 3 IF WE WOULD HAVE WON THE TOSS THEN WE WOULD HAVE DEFERRED SO WE WOULD HAVE KNOW WHAT WE HAD TO DO. BUT WE WERE GLAD THAT WE GOT IT FIRST. SO WE COULD PUT THE PRESSURE ON THOSE GUYS. AND FORCE THEM TO SCORE A TOUCHDOWN. BUT I’M PROUD OF MY GUYS FOR NOT QUITTING , GIVING UP, AND KEEP FIGHTING IN OVERTIME. WE GOT THAT TOUCHDOWN AND THE DEFENSE WENT OUT AND GOT THAT STOP 3 SPORTS TEAM AD LIBS AND THEN INTROS TO MO CARTER… CONNELL 3 MAYNOR’S TEAM DUG DEEP AND PULLED OUT A SPECIAL VICTORY YESTERDAY… SPECIAL NOT BECAUSE IT WAS HOMECOMING, BUT BECAUSE IT WAS A VICTORY IN CONFERENCE…NOW WE CAN’T TAKE ANYTHING AWAY FROM TEXAS SOUTHERN BECAUSE THIS TEAM HAS SOME ATHLETES WHO CAN PLAY… AND COACH MAYNOR WARNED HIS TEAM ALL WEEK ABOUT THAT. ESPECIALLY SINCE THE OFFENSE WAS SCORING ABOUT 25 POINTS A GAME AND WRACKING UP ABOUT 400 YARDS PER GAME..THE BULLDOGS DID APPEAR TO HAVE THIS GAME IN THEIR HANDS IN THE 2ND HALF, BUT TEXAS SOUTHERN SHOWED THAT THEY WERE NEVER OUT OF IT… AND THAT ALLOWED THEM TO FORCE O-T…BUT IN THAT EXTRA PERIOD, YOU HAVE TO GIVE A LOT OF CREDIT TO THE BULLDOG FOR DIGGING DEEP OFFENSIVELY TO SCORE FIRST AND THEN HATS OFF TO THE DEFENSE FOR COMING UP WITH A HUGE STOP TO END THE GAME… THAT UNIT HAD GIVEN UP SOME BIG PLAYS BUT THEY MADE THE BIGGEST OF THE GAME WHEN IT MATTERED THE MOST. AND THE DOGS GAVE FANS SOMETHING ELSE TO CELEBRATE BESIDES HOMECOMING 3 THIS VIDEO WILL BE USED AS MO TALKS.. 3 NEXT SATURDAY … ALABAMA A&M HITS THE ROUND FOR A BATTLE AT GRAMBLING STATE.. THE TIGERS JUST WHIPPED JACKSON STATE FOR THEIR 1ST WIN OF THE YEAR LAST NIGHT… KICKOFF IS SET FOR 2 P-M NEXT WEEK 3 AND FOR MORE ON THE BULLDOGS… STAYED TUNED FOR THE ALABAMA a&M FOOTBALL REVIEW SHOW WITH COAHC CONNELL
